Hi!
This year we have 16 Daisies and 8 Brownies. We had a great first meeting and Hollie Brown (co-leader) made a Kaper Chart so that all girls can get a turn being responsible for things like choosing snacks, passing out snacks, helping with crafts and supplies, etc.
The Brownies got a brown folder and Daisies got a yellow folder that includes information like:
* The Girl Scout Promise and Law
* A chore chart--we hope girls can be helpful Girl Scouts at home and earn a little change to donate to a Salvation Army angel before Christmas
* A calendar of the activities, field trips and service projects we will be doing over the next 4 months.
The Daisies also got a special Journey book called Daisy Flower Garden. Each year the first grade teachers assign homework to their students of reading 20 minutes daily. Please try to include this book (pages 5 - 31) as a reading activity. Even though Sophia is now a Brownie, she has really enjoyed reading this book with me and doing the activities.
Our first service project will be making breakfast for the guests at the Ronald McDonald House on Saturday 09/13 from 7am - 10 am. More details will follow.
Our next meeting will be 09/03. Please remember to bring folders and books and wear your uniform if you have it!

Welcome Daisies and Brownies!
We are very excited to start our 2nd year as Troop 55860! We have quite a few fun activities and service projects planned for this year and want the girls to see they can do many things to make their corner of the world a better, happier place.
If Daisies (1st graders) wish to get a tunic or a vest, they have earned all of the petals and center of the Daisy flower as you can see below. This year we will work on the 3 rectangular Journey patches featured at the bottom of the tunic and vest. The troop will buy these 3 rectangular patches for an end of the year celebration.
Brownies have the option of a vest or a sash and below you can see the placement of items:

Other patches considered "fun patches" can be sewn on the backs of both uniforms. We will be earning a variety of patches and badges this year and will keep track of this information for all girls and ultimately buy these patches and badges and present them to the girls at the end of the year.
