2015-16 Meeting #12: 02/03/16

At today's meeting the girls completed the badge for World Thinking Day. There were fun activities for the girls to complete to find their best qualities that make them good friends to others. Each girl chose a shape to represent their best qualities and showed off their shape to the troop. Our girls saw what Girl Scouts look like in other countries and we talked about how we are similar and different from one another.

We got to work on the Inventor badge. The creative juices were flowing . . . you can see that girls came up with dozens of ideas of how to make a circle more than a circle. We'll wrap up this badge at the next meeting.

2015-16 Meeting #11: 01/26/16

This meeting, the girls were busy working on their World Thinking Day project. Girls took turns reading their research questions about the United Kingdom and then explaining their answers to the others...very informative!

We watched a quick video of amazing sites in the U.K. and then listened to a song for Coulter's Candy. This catchy Scottish jingle will be our song for World Thinking Day.

We pulled out the markers, glue and popsicle sticks and designed our own castle to present with our trifold board. It was great to see each girl express her own creativity!

2015-16 Meeting #10: 01/06/16

We had a fun, tasty meeting!

The girls in our troop earned the Cookie Activity Pin as they comoleted training for cookie selling season. They even got to sample several flavors...Thin Mints were voted to be the tastiest!

Girls were sent home with an activity sheet to earn their My Great Day badge.

We began working on crafts for a display board for World Thinking Day to be held in February. The troop voted to represent The United Kingdom so some colored the flags of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland while others made shamrocks, daffodils, crowns and colored celtic knots.
