Meeting #11: 01/21/15

We had another interesting visitor today. Ms. Beth arranged for Kate, a WVU student and certified lifeguard, to speak to our girls about general safety and pool safety. The girls were very attentive and did a great job answering Kate's questions about pool safety. We followed up with additional activities so that Brownies can work toward their Safety Badge and so that Daisies can earn their Safety Pin.

Brownies completed their Bug Badge then worked on several teamwork activities. Working together and recognizing each other's strengths will be very important for the Brownie Quest Journey we are beginning.

Our Daisies and Brownies have also earned their Cookie Activity Pin. With the help of parent volunteers, girls practiced door to door sales and learned about selling safety. The girls are well informed about cookie costs and the different cookies we're selling this year...the last of my thin mints have been taste tested :)

Importantly, the girls set sales goals for themselves...these are some ambitious girls!! We're so proud of the girls for the reasons they want to sell so many cookies. The #1 way they want the cookie sales to benefit them are snacks at meetings :)  There were diverse ways they want cookie sale money to help others including...donate money to orphanages, buy clothes and food to donate to those in need, use money to help their teachers and Mrs. Hartshorn.

We're proud of all the girls for having such big hearts and a great desire to help others! They are all wonderful Girl Scouts!
